Colorblocking: The Eye Edition

Hey Loves,

While discovering the latest beauty trends and tips, I came across Color-block Makeup. Hmmmm, I have never been a fan of one shade from lash line to brow bone but for some reason, this peaked my interest. So, I challenged myself by trying the sunny look. Also, I should be purchasing my contacts soon so I wanted to check out a new mascara which I included in this look for your viewing pleasure. 🙂

This look features one hue on my lids and another corresponding, yet equally bright shade along my lower lash line.

My two tone gaze doesn’t look half bad.

Originally, when I decided to tackle this look I wanted to try Smitten by CoverGirl on my lips. Silly me completely forgot once I got into this challenge smh. Maybe I will try this look again with a popping lip color. Then again, I may not worry about it unless I receive requests.

Eye Makeup: MAC Maira’s Mood A14 (Pink/Purple Blend), MAC Off the Page (Orange), Maybeline’s Illegal Length Mascara in Brownish Black

Lips: Revlon Lipstick in Soft Nude #070, CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers in Guava Spash #505

Overall, this challenge was not bad at all. This may not be my signature look but it was fun.    🙂 Also, I tried Maybeline’s Illegal Length Mascara. I can’t quite say that I was impressed by the results. It seems that the Maybeline’s Illegal Length clumps more. Then again, maybe I didn’t use as much water on the brush as I normally do. Running water over my mascara brush is my own little routine. Water keeps my eyelashes from feeling hard and brittle while still giving my lashes a little oomph. My eyelashes are naturally very long so it’s not much oomph but there is a slight difference. Before, I was using Maybeline’s Falsies Mascara. I think I may go back to my Falsies. I migh do an official tester using Maybeline’s Falsies and Maybeline’s Illegal Length.

SN: I keep it REAL simple when it comes to applying makeup….Eyeshadow, Blush, Lipstick/Lipgloss, and occassionally mascara when I am wearing contacts but no eyeliner and absolutely NO foundation. I hate it! I have worn it once and I doubt that I will ever wear it again.

Yay or Nay??

I love it. I plan on trying this look this weekend. I like the lipstick you chose. It made the look complete without being overdramatic. I have a request re: the naked 2 palette by urban decay.
