It’s Time to Birth This Thing

Hey Loves,

I know it has been a minute but It has been well worth it. Since I started this blog, I have been pregnant with a dream. If you noticed, I have been reiterating the importance of dreaming.

Interestingly, I started out diligently working in one direction but very little worked out. The only thing that came out of effort after effort is my Logo (it is something serious if you ask me).  I must say that during that time, my faith was strong but many times the discouragement took over. As time passed, it seemed as if one day, I was led to move toward a similar but different goal. From that day forward, things began to move consistently.

Since then my Faith in God and my abilities have excelled. What I thought was my limit, God proved me wrong. Deep down in my spirit, I always knew that I was destined for greatness but to attain it seemed a little iffy, especially when I began considering income, bills, dreams, financial support or a lack thereof, resources…I just did not know when, where, or how. Deep down I did believe that God was able.

At times, it is difficult to envision a life involving more than the everyday hustle and bustle of routine. I am proof that ALL things are possible. I do mean ALL things. I want to tell you that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.  With that being said, I have a very special announcement to make…….

Halley Berry at 46!

Halley Berry is taking the world by storm and forcing us to change the way we look at parenthood. So many women are in a race to have a child before the age of 30 (I know some). I am by no means deeming this mindset utterly ridiculously. However, I am concerned from a relationship stand point. It seems as if the “biological clock” leads some women down a not so ideal relationship because you begin to think about the what ifs. Well, what if you conceived a child with a person who you would much rather not deal with? What if your child’s father or mother is not the man or woman you would like serving as a role model for your child? What if you come to realize that the two of you desire different things out of life? What if your relationship turns so dysfunctional that you cannot stand the thought of having a child with the other person?

What if you decide to get to know yourself first then entertain the idea of getting to know someone else? What if you live the life that is meant for you and believe that ALL things will fall into place? What if you simply have faith and trust God to provide your soul mate and bless the union with a beautiful child?

Truth be told, all pregnancies in late age do not end with birthing a child who has down syndrome or any other complications. I was a special case, my mother conceived me at the age of 44.  My brother was 16 and my sister was 13 (I can only imagine what they were saying…WTH? Ma, Really? ) My mother is not crippled nor is she walking with a cane. She does not use a handicap sticker. She works a full -time job everyday. She cooks, cleans, and much more. My mother’s pregnancy was not planned but the wonderful thing about God is that he does his own thing without any consultation. Get my point yet? If you are meant to have a baby, it will happen when the time is right, regardless of age. God nor anyone on earth is asking for our hands to manipulate the situation. Isn’t this the perfect life lesson!?

Do you and let things be. To be perfectly honest, see, us humans have a habit of giving our two cents and trying to control life which most times turns out to be an epic fail. All along, if we would have just been in chill mode, things would turn out just right!

Get Yo Life!

Happy Monday Loves,

Over the weekend, I was having a conversation with a group of women about haters. It is no secret that some people will not like you, they will not genuinely celebrate your achievements and some will even boldly tell of their disgust and disapproval regarding the very things that do not concern them. It is harder to adjust to this reality when you have been in a situation with the hater and bent over backwards to aid in their success at one time or another. People who find it hard to celebrate with you are unhappy with some things in their own life and secretly admire the beauty of your life. We may not think our lives are great enough to covet over  but believe me people will (A) assume and (B) appreciate what we do not. Either way, it is sad and shameful.

In response to the haters that you encounter, the best way to deal with these kind of people is to Kill them with kindness. I guarantee you that they will continue to look like the unfortunate fools that they have knowingly become. They will always think to themselves, “She’s still smiling? I mean after EVERYTHING that I have thrown at her…WTH?” Your response will be, “Yes Ma’am… You tried. You failed. You Tried again and Failed some more. Now, Go get yo  life!

I hope yall are enjoying this very nice weather! Oh, how I love thee. If you are not, I hope that it moves your way soon. In the mean time, I will soak it up for you!

Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait. I didn’t really think about my outfit until I was actually at work and realized that I was a walking two tone highlighter.  It did not take long before my silly coworkers were telling me that I looked like a scoop of Sherbet..smh.. All I could say was, True True.  :-) I can’t help that I LOVE color!

Double Denim

Hey Loves!

I hope all is Blessed and Fabulous with each of you! As I have reflected on my life’s path and after speaking with friends and associates, I want to encourage you to DREAM! With DREAMing comes FAITH and HOPE. All things are Possible with sacrifice and tenacity.

You are capable of ALL things great and you were designed for the trials and triumphs. 

Even if you have not discovered your life’s purpose, it is A-OK. Take this time to become one with yourself and your higher being and REALLY think about your strengths and what makes your heart smile. 

Then, think about how you are able to transform this thought into greatness…Remember, ALL things are possible! It is okay if you have more than one idea. That is why options are important as well as process of elimination. 

Know that I do not have my life figured out but I am well on my way. The process was indeed a struggle but God had me and I thank him for Growth, learning, and direction.
If you are too fearful to move, you will never appreciate life and ALL that it has to offer.

Stylish Spending

Happy HUMP DAY!!

So, I was recently in a bad accident which resulted in my car being totaled. God is Awesome because I walked away with only a bruised back, side, and two scars on my arm!!! The only down side is that I was forced to purchase another vehicle. !!! This is all BAD because my car was paid off!!!!!! Of course a new car would be nice but NOT that car note….DEPRESSING!

After coming to terms with the reality that it was inevitable, God showed out again. Thank the good Lord for Networks! I was linked with a car salesman who took awesome care of me. Bless his heart lol He spent his whole workday helping me. The day was filled with laughs, photo shoots (compliments of Earl, the car salesman),  anxiety and more laughs!

I went in with the idea of purchasing a used car and walked out with a 2013 edition! If I MUST spend money unexpectedly, I might as well do it with Style!

Don’t mistake compatibility with friendship and even sexual compatibility for life partner material!

Decisions…

I hate the fact that we as people manipulate things just so things can go in our favor. Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong. The unfavorable things happen as a result of our poor acts. No, we choose to do what is right and we choose to do what is wrong…Know that. Believe that.

This was a simple yet powerful (At least in my opinion) Facebook Post that was on my heart this morning.

If more of us thought about the consequences or outcome of our actions, we probably would not do some of the things that we choose to do. Think before you act because anytime you act, you run the risk of a less than ideal outcome. There comes a time when we have to grow up and end the mentality of “Act now. Worry later.” If you think AND adhere to wisdom now, you might not have to worry later.
